INTERSTATE MOVES
An interstate move is any move that crosses a state
line. Rates for interstate moves are regulated by the
Department of Transportation and set by the Household
Goods Carrier Bureau and the individual carriers.
Mississippi Van Lines will be glad to provide you with a
free, no obligation, in house estimate. We offer three
types of pricing on interstate move.
Standard Discounted Move - This pricing option is
designed for the shipper who is not sure exactly what
they will be moving. We rate the actual services
performed at the tariff rates and apply the discount
that you were given at the time of the estimate. The
advantage of this type of estimate is that you can
change your mind about what you want to move at the
last minute.
Binding Estimate - This option is designed for the
shipper who knows exactly what services they want and
exactly what is going to be moved. The salesperson
will walk through your home to determine the weight
of your shipment and the number of cartons that you
will need. We will rate these charges, apply the
discount and give you an exact cost for your move.
Ceiling Price - This option is designed for the
shipper who thinks that they might eliminate some of
the goods to be moved before the move takes place.
The salesperson will make an estimate just like the
binding price but we will rate the move based on
actual charges less the discount. You will pay the
lesser of the two prices.
Our salespeople will be happy to sit down
with you and help you determine which of these pricing
options best fits your needs. Mississippi Van Lines in
dedicated to providing you the services you
expect, at a price that you can afford. Call us today for
